It is easy to say “Love Yourself and everything will be OK” but we all know it’s not that easy to do when your inner child is screaming at you from within. You cannot just snap out of it because they tell you to but you can take it one day at a time, one moment at a time, and one step at a time. It’s a journey, not a race.
Healing your inner child is a journey that can take a lifetime, but it is a journey well worth the trip. How does one begin? What if you’re not even sure what your inner child is trying to say? You have questions, and time to gather some information and create a healing plan for yourself.
Sample Healing Plan:
- Breathe, Rest, and Hydrate.
- Educate yourself and gather information on healing your inner child. Talk to your inner child and figure out what it needs to heal.
- Seek professional help from a licensed counselor.
- Exercise. Start a regular program to get your body moving.
Taking the time to care for yourself, breathe, and drink plenty of water to keep hydrated is a must-do in any self-love healing plan. Going through trauma is exhausting and can easily cause burnout and lead to depression. Care for yourself, take a bath, get a manicure, and sleep in this weekend. Do what you need to do to care for your body and rest your mind.
Gathering information is going to help you understand. There are many videos, articles, and blogs like mine to help you learn about what ails you. knowledge is power and when you are feeling powerless it can help you gain confidence to understand why something is happening or why someone is behaving like they are or why you feel like you do.
Seeking help from a licensed professional is easier than ever before with virtual meetings, you can chat in the comfort of your own home. Visit Google and search for a professional in your area, your insurance company may also have a list of in-network providers on their website. Talking to a professional can help you gain an unbiased perspective. Your family and friends mean well but they love you and they are too close to your pain to give you the tools to heal. Of course, talking to your bestie is helpful but a professional is better suited to help you heal.
Exercise is key to your healing as it will help you reach a state of high vibration. Dancing is a great way to get your blood pumping and have some fun. Try putting on your favorite music, and dance around your house. A nature walk is a fabulous way to clear your head and gives you time to think things through.
Once you figure out what it is that is holding you back from loving yourself you can figure out how to process and heal from those wounds. Remember we all put our pants on the same way as the pope, no one is any better than you. You are beautiful in your way. Perfectly, imperfect, just like the rest of us.
